Colorado Power Electronics Center (CoPEC)

Directions for graduate student applicants

CoPEC is an industry-supported research center in the ECE Department of the University of Colorado in Boulder. Our research and education programs combine analog integrated-circuit design, mixed-signal integrated-circuit design, and power electronics. Our research projects address applications ranging from ultra-low-power energy scavenging devices and biosensors, to power management solutions for battery-powered wireless communication and computing electronics, to high-efficiency switched-mode power supplies, to renewable-energy systems. CoPEC projects are funded by CoPEC industrial sponsors, including major semiconductor and power-supply companies, as well as government agencies.

We are continuously looking for top undergraduate and M.S. students interested in pursuing a graduate degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on analog IC design, mixed-signal IC design, and/or power electronics. Top applicants are eligible for admission with financial aid, including teaching, research or combination teaching/research assistantships, or fellowships. In addition, CoPEC students in general have excellent internship and job opportunities.

The application process can be started at any time, but preferably before the end of January for the following Fall semester, and before the end of July for the following Spring semester. If you are interested in applying to our graduate program, please follow the directions below:
