Notes on ECES System Usage
- Logging in to the ECE Undergrad lab Windows computers requires an account on the unix computer eces.colorado.edu. A great deal of info about eces is available here: http://eces.colorado.edu
- EE and ECE students (undergrad majors and graduate students) who do not already have an account can create one at any time using the CU PLUS system. Directions here: http://eces.colorado.edu/pluscreate.html
- Non EE and ECE students with access to PLUS can create an account once they are registered for an ECE Lab course. Directions still here: http://eces.colorado.edu/pluscreate.html
- Anyone without access to PLUS (faculty, some off-campus students, etc.) or who is having problems using PLUS can get an account on eces by e-mailing a request to ecehelp@colorado.edu. Student requests should include the course for which they require lab access and should be cc'ed to the professor. E-mail requests should be a last resort -- anyone who can, should use PLUS to create their account.
- Anyone with access to PLUS can use it to change their eces passwords at any time. Directions here: http://eces.colorado.edu/pluspass.html
- Those without PLUS access should follow these directions for changing their password (current password must be known): http://eces.colorado.edu/unixpass.html
- Finally, anyone using the ECE Undergrad Labs and/or eces.colorado.edu should be familiar with the policies governing its use: http://eces.colorado.edu/policies.html
ECES Printing Info
For the Fall term, all of the labs on the ECEE 1B level will be sharing
one network laser printer which is located in the SRC.
This includes the Logic Lab, Power/Controls Lab, DSP Lab, and both
Embedded Systems labs.
There is a second printer in the Circuits Lab which will be shared by
Circuits and the Computers as Components labs.
All maintenance and paper refilling on these two printers will be handled
by the ECE staff.
Please remind your students and TAs that they should only print materials
directly related to their ECE courses. Additionally, they should refrain
from printing things like long sets of course notes (especially if these
are available for sale).
Non-ECE students and off-campus students who do not already have buff one
card access to the SRC can request this at the front desk.
